Up to $11,510 annually
Dependents of licensed or ordained Wesleyan ministers or career Wesleyan missionaries appointed by Global Partners may be awarded up to 50 percent of tuition. Dependents who qualify for the Presidential Scholarship will be awarded whichever amount is greater. Out-of-state dependents who receive the $11,000 Presidential Scholarship receive an additional $3000 SWU Grant. Other aid (federal, state, athletic, Phillippe Young Artist scholarship, or outside scholarships) can be stacked for additional aid up to full cost of tuition, room and board. This funding level is effective with incoming matriculates beginning with the fall 2012 semester.
The parent must remain as appointed and full-time active status at the time of University acceptance and matriculation. If a student gets married prior to the academic year, the WMDG is no longer applicable.
Southern Wesleyan honors the sacrificial work of our Wesleyan ministers. Our goal is to provide as much assistance as possible to those dependents whose families are already making a significant contribution to Wesleyan higher education. Making Southern Wesleyan a best-buy for this important group of students is a high priority. They often become our best athletes, our most committed learners, and most active student life advocates. SWU appreciates the impact dependents of Wesleyan pastors make on our university community!
