Citadel Gospel Choir at SWU March 22
The Citadel Gospel Choir, directed by Southern Wesleyan University alumnus Braeden Kershner, will perform on the SWU campus March 22 at 10:50 a.m., in the Newton Hobson Chapel and Fine Arts Center.
The Citadel Gospel Choir is a 25-member group of dedicated musicians from the Citadel's Corp of Cadets, based at the military college in Charleston.
A 2007 music education graduate of Southern Wesleyan, Kershner has gained local and national recognition, including coverage on NBC’s Today Show and top honors from the Charleston County School District for his work with the Stall High School Band, which include Teacher of the Month and first runner up for Teacher of the Year. Southern Wesleyan’s Alumni Association recognized Kershner in 2011 with the Professional Excellence Award for Education.
Kershner is band and choral director at C.E. Williams Middle School for the Creative and Scientific Arts in Charleston, S.C.
