Southern Wesleyan University has named its education center in honor of former university president Dr. John Newby. The new Education Center includes state-of-the-art classrooms as well as a methods classroom that is a model of a typical public school classroom. About half of Southern Wesleyan University’s students are education majors. The university’s Adult and Graduate Studies program also uses the building. The AGS program offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in business and education in an accelerated format designed to be convenient for working adults.
