Passing the Mantle 2004
Students new to Southern Wesleyan University received advice for success as well as medallions stamped “2004” to mark the beginning of their educational and spiritual journey on the campus during the Passing the Mantle ceremony and concert Aug. 14.
The ceremony celebrates a new season and new life journey with a focus on students making a transition into independence. Students and their families heard advice on making the transition to college life from Student Government Association President Jasmyn Byrd, University President David Spittal and others. “From the Heart,” a Southern Wesleyan University ministry team performed for the event.
