Passing the Mantle marks start of educational, spiritual journey

New students at Southern Wesleyan University received medallions to mark the beginning of their educational and spiritual journey during the Passing the Mantle ceremony and concert on Aug. 18. The ceremony focused on students making a transition into independence. Students and their families heard advice from Dr. Joe Brockinton, vice president for Student Life, and others on making the shift to college life. The University Singers performed for the event.
