Rouse Family establishes Memorial Scholarship
The Rouse Family established a scholarship in memory of Susan Rouse, a beloved member of the science faculty who passed away Nov. 11.
The Dr. Susan T. Rouse Memorial Honors Research Scholarship will serve as a permanent honor of her love of faith, science, research and the SWU community.
To Mark Cromer, a senior biology major from Temperance, Mich., Rouse was one of the most inspiring people he has ever met. Cromer studied under Rouse as an honor research student, and praised her for her knowledge, wisdom and loving guidance.
“Dr. Rouse was more than just my professor and research supervisor; she was someone who personally invested in my life to ensure that I would be well-prepared and would be able to succeed in my future because I was not just another student to her – I was someone she cared about,” Cromer said. “Dr. Rouse was one of the greatest professors I will ever have, and she was one of the greatest people I will ever know."
