Dr. Todd Voss, president of Southern Wesleyan University, cut the ribbon officially opening "New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music," a Smithsonian traveling exhibit on display until April 21, 2012, at the university’s campus in Central. The exhibit, which traces the diverse origins of American music, is located in Founders' Hall. The exhibit is a collaboration between the university and the Pickens County Museum, Birchwood Center and Humanities Council SC. Coinciding with the exhibit are numerous events that celebrate our musical heritage.
