SWU hosts free "Women AIM High" luncheon

08.20.09 | Community

Delicious lunch and inspiring accounts of women overcoming challenges will be on the menu for a regional luncheon free to women in the area.

Southern Wesleyan University and Anderson Interfaith Ministries announce the "Women AIM High Luncheon" for Pickens and Oconee counties, to be held on Thursday, Sept. 17, at noon in the Dining Commons at Southern Wesleyan University in Central.

The event is a networking and educational luncheon featuring the Women & Children Succeeding Program of Anderson Interfaith Ministries, which also serves women in Pickens and Oconee counties. The luncheon is free, but reservations are requested by Sept. 3. All women in the Pickens and Oconee county areas are invited. Southern Wesleyan University, the event's sponsor, will provide a light lunch.

A children's chair auction will be held at the event to benefit the program. AIM is currently seeking donations of children's chairs, rockers and benches that can be decorated for the auction, as well as people to paint or decorate these items.
