Three Free Jazz Concerts
Cory Dodgens, a recent music graduate from Easley, performs with jazz camp participants and clinicians from around the country during last year’s jazz camp at Southern Wesleyan University. The public is invited to three free jazz concerts this June on the campus in Central and Main Street Deli, held in conjunction with this year’s camp.
In June the weather is hot, but with three free concerts featuring cool jazz, musical refreshment isn’t far away. Concerts will be June 19, 7 p.m. at Folger Fine Arts Auditorium on the Central campus, June 20, 6:30 p.m. at the Main Street Deli in downtown Central and June 22, 11 a.m. at Newton Hobson Chapel and Fine Arts Center on the Central campus.
Organized in conjunction with SWU’s Summer Jazz Experience, the concerts will feature renowned jazz recording and performing artists, paired with jazz camp participants and area musicians. For details, go online to swu.edu/jazzcamp or contact Professor Greg Day at (864) 650-8987/email .
