Future Students

Southern Wesleyan University is a Christ-centered, student-focused learning community dedicated to transforming lives.

SWU Community

SWU students, faculty and staff are something, something, something else about our campus community.

Alumni & Friends

Warriors at heart. Your campus experience may only last a few years, but your connection to Southern Wesleyan can last a lifetime. Stay connected to SWU through events, publications, and social media.

Visitors & Neighbors

Whether you come for a campus visit, fine arts program, or athletic event, SWU seeks to provide educational and cultural opportunities not just to our campus community but to the greater community around us.

Order of Sigma Delta

The mission of the Order of Sigma Delta is to support the greater mission of Southern Wesleyan University and assist in providing an excelling learning experience that equips others for service and mobilizes leaders, by serving as a role model of servant leadership on our campus.

Sigma Delta comes from the Greek words that mean “fellow servant.” With Servant Leadership as one of the five areas of development for students on our campus, the Order of Sigma Delta is a champion of servant leadership through role-modeling and leading campus partners to take responsibility for service to others.

Common Initiatives

Orientation Ambassadors: The first service project for this organization each year is to provide a welcoming first impression for our newest Warriors. You will find Sigma Deltas working alongside our friends from Residential Life helping students move into their living space, offering directions on campus, and helping students and parents through the registration period.

Peer Mentoring: Starting in orientation and continuing through the Fall semester, you will find Sigma Delta heavily involved in mentoring our new students. Mentoring begins through engagement at social programs during orientation and continues in the classroom as a select number of the Sigma Deltas serve as teaching assistants in Personal Wholeness I.

Alternative Fall Break Program: This past year, members of Sigma Delta along with other students took a portion of their Fall Break to return early to campus and volunteer with Habitat for Humanity to assist on the building of a home in Central, SC.

Day of Service: Like many of students, Sigma Deltas love to serve and are heavily involved in the SWU Day of Service. From being actively involved in a service project, to planning events, or signing up students, the Day of Service is an important day to this organization.

Relay for Life: Each year, Sigma Delta raises money for an agency that is fighting for a worthy cause. For the past two years, Sigma Delta has chosen to raise money for Relay for Life. Look for flyers around campus during the spring semester to learn how you can financially support this event.

Earth Day: This is known as the Sigma Delta signature event. When Sigma Delta added more community service opportunities as a goal, this became our first major service initiative. For our first Earth Day in 2012 we had volunteers all over campus that planted more than 10,000 flowers for this campus beautification event.
