GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Coordinator for Faith-Based Learning promotes the development of faith-based curriculum and the integration of faith and technology in teaching and learning across disciplines. The Coordinator also oversees the consistency and uniformity of course design with faith as the foundational element of courses. In addition, the Coordinator serves as an online chaplain.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Working collaboratively with members of various departments, the Coordinator for Faith-Based Learning provides support for faculty to assist them with integrating faith into their curriculum using appropriate technology tools and course design practices. More specifically, the Coordinator for Faith-Based Learning will:
- Lead faculty in designing, teaching, and integrating faith-based curriculum that is a rigorous expression of Christian thought within each discipline.
- Serve as an online chaplain for students participating in online and remote site classrooms.
- Create and maintain a network of referral pastors for instructional sites.
- Coordinate and participate in the implementation and use of technologies that support learning across the college, including online, blended and classroom instruction.
- Provide support for creation of web-based and multimedia instructional materials used for teaching and learning.
- Design and deliver classroom, individual and web-based training for faculty on faith integration.
- Assist in the implementation of SACS and federally mandated distance learning criteria.
- Performs others duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ordained minister in good standing in a district of the Wesleyan Church (or ability to be ordained in Wesleyan Church) and bachelor's degree in related field. Master's degree is preferred.
- Record of experience in course or curriculum design, e-learning and digital media creation/delivery.
- Demonstrated ability in clear, effective communication with diverse constituencies.
- Must be effective at problem solving and working on multiple assignments.
- Must be available to work a non-standard schedule in order to fulfill assigned duties and responsibilities.

- Physical/Environmental Requirements. Visual acuity necessary to do editorial work, proof documents, and manage files. Requires ability to sit for periods of time in an interior office environment. May require infrequent lifting of objects up to 10 pounds, and occasionally items up to 20 pounds. Occasional travel by car or van to remote sites may be required.

SALARY INFORMATION
This is a regular, full-time, exempt position.
