PROFILE: | Michael P. Keaton is a native of Seneca, S.C., and can trace his ancestry in the area back to the early 1700s. He has taught middle and high school classes ranging from history to geography to science. You may have seen him on the History Channel special "Hillbilly: The Real Story" or in the national PBS documentary "The Outlaw Lewis Redmond". Michael has designed a Congressional election ad, lost consciousness underwater, rescued a kitten from a tree, hit a game-winning shot at the buzzer, missed a game-winning shot at the buzzer, filled a car with popcorn, been in the same room with Buzz Aldrin, attacked by a pit bull, yelled at by an Academy Award-winning actor, chased by an enraged bull, and he has 40 first cousins. Michael has taught in Southern Wesleyan University's AGS program since 2002, and he has taught full-time in the traditional program since 2008. He is also the author of the science fiction novel, "All Hail The Emperor," and is looking for someone with $50 million who would like to produce the movie version. Michael currently resides in Seneca with his wife, Jenny, and two daughters, Olivia and Julianne.
