PROFILE:

Prior to joining the business faculty at Southern Wesleyan University, Dr. Bill Raynor was a professor at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Delhi. He was the 2009 recipient of the Chancellor’s Award for “Excellence in Teaching,” the most prestigious honor an academician can receive in the state university’s 64-campus system. During his tenure at SUNY Delhi, he was a visiting professor in China and in Peru. He also developed an international reputation in the area of globalization and job outsourcing. Raynor was consulted by labor organizations, major corporations, and was interviewed on outsourcing for newspapers and radio. His outsourcing articles have been used by professors at other academic institutions, and he is quoted in books, articles, manufacturing reports, and other publications.

Prior to entering the academic world, Raynor worked in the banking industry. He has several years of experience in related finance and private sector work. His formal education includes an undergraduate degree in business and public management from SUNY Utica, a MBA from SUNY Binghamton and a doctorate in business administration from the University of Sarasota/Argosy.

Raynor was born in 1960 in upstate New York, and has spent much of his life there. Faith oriented activities and church are the focal point of his family life including his wife Nancy and their son Christopher. They also enjoy volunteer work, traveling (especially to Peru, Nancy’s native country), and meeting new people.
