PROFILE:

Shotsberger began his professional life as an educator, teaching high school math in private and public school settings. After receiving his master’s and doctorate, he began working at the mathematics department of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington as a professor of mathematics education.  After nine years there, he and his family were called to be missionaries to Ukraine, where they served for seven years. Shotsberger then came to Southern Wesleyan University, first as dean of education, and now as a fulltime professor of mathematics and education. He enjoys traveling, playing guitar and drawing pencil portraits as gifts for people.
